Earning Criteria

  • This course is ideal for students seeking to understand the foundational elements of music and music-reading. The student will work through eleven modules in the following subjects: pitch, keyboard and letters, treble clef, bass clef, grand staff, half and whole step intervals, scale, key and key signature, interval numbers, interval qualities and inversions, and triads.
  • Students will develop the ability to read and analyze fundamental aspects of notated music with appropriate fluency. Students learn to identify/construct: keys on the keyboard, pitches in treble and bass clef, major and minor scales, key signatures, intervals, and triads.
