Individuals can identify and describe the function and purpose of a programmable logic controller (PLC), the features of relay ladder logic instruction categories and PLC programming languages. They understand number systems, the general function of an input/output (I/O) module. This includes discrete, numerical data, analog data, special, remote, power supply, PLC architecture and the purpose of PLC software and firmware. They can compare hardwired and PLC systems. Troubleshooting as well.
