The Lean Advanced training of the Smurfit Westrock Business Excellence Academy teaches participants how to ‘think lean’ about business processes to reduce waste, cut costs and increase customer value. With this training participants learn how to apply lean methodologies, tools and techniques to support continuous improvement and to manage change.

Earning Criteria

The Lean Advanced Training is one week session during which participants attend instructor led modules in person. Participants will be trained on an overview of and introduction to lean, understanding the Voice of the Customer, the ‘8 Deadly Wastes’, Daily Management and Pulse meetings, Simple Problem Solving, Value Stream Mapping, 5S, Visual management, Standard work and Kamishibai in a challenging interactive team environment.
Participants will need to actively participate in and complete the one-week Lean Advanced Training of Smurfit Westrock’s Business Excellence Academy. The participants must have commitment from their manager for them to participate in the training.
To verify if participants have well understood the content of the training, they will need to pass the Lean Advanced Examination.
