Writing with Hidden Disabilities

This credential represents the successful completion of a self-paced Writing Across the College Canvas course that introduces how students with invisible disabilities and/or neurodiverse brain processing may experience writing in higher education. Upon completion, participants will have a basic understanding of cognitive processes involved in writing, intersections of invisible disabilities and higher education, and how to provide equitable opportunities for writing success to all students.

Earning Criteria

To earn this credential, a participant will successfully complete the WHD self-paced Canvas course: ten modules that include video presentations and reflective responses. Additionally, participants engage in a half-hour informal conversation with the WAC director or a learning community discussion. The participant will identify at least three strategies they will implement in their courses to support writing success for all students.
