SLCC Search Advocates are trained, external search committee members who promote efforts to improve equity, diversity, and inclusivity within valid, evidentiary-based searches and hiring processes. Their preparation involves a two-day training and continuing education to learn effective strategies to be an advocate on searches.

Earning Criteria

To obtain a SLCC Search Advocate certification you must participate in either the online canvas training or our 2-day in-person training. To maintain your certificate of completion, please attend at least TWO Community of Practice (CoP) sessions per year. Community of Practice sessions are for search advocates who have completed the in-person or online training. Our CoP sessions are for the professional development of our search advocates.
