MEDLaunch is a student-driven, biomedical incubator in SLU’s Chaifetz Center for Entrepreneurship. Students work in multidisciplinary teams under guidance of clinical, industry, and academic mentors to develop innovations in areas including surgical devices, health IT, and medical diagnostics. Teams work on projects with final pitch presentation at annual Demo Day event. Through successful management of funds, time, and SLU Leader support, they gain real-world experience in start-up culture.

Skills
Earning Criteria
-
Focused on skill development, leaders will participate in MEDLaunch Start-Up Day, 5 of 5 Design Reviews, Demo Day, and at least 4 official MEDLaunch events, including workshops and executive board meetings. It is the participant’s responsibility to complete any participation forms.
-
Leadership in start-ups is distinct from leadership in other team-based organizations. Because of the risky, uncertain nature of entrepreneurship, a successful entrepreneur deploys products, collects feedback, delegates work, integrates lessons learned, and connects with stakeholders, customers, and partners. These skills will be evaluated by progress in Design Review Sessions.
-
Leaders will remain active on the executive board until the completion of the Entrepreneurs' program. Additionally, they will recruit another leader to succeed them for the next cohort.
