MedLaunch: Biotech Incubator Entrepreneur
MEDLaunch is a student-driven, biomedical incubator in SLU’s Chaifetz Center for Entrepreneurship. Students work in multidisciplinary teams under guidance of clinical, industry, & academic mentors to develop innovations in areas including surgical devices, health IT, medical diagnostics. Teams attend entrepreneurship workshops, participate in design reviews, and engage in the development & iteration process of successful startups. Final pitch presentation is made at annual Demo Day event.

Earning Criteria

Focused on skill development, entrepreneurs will participate in MEDLaunch Start-Up Day, Demo Day, and at least 4 official MEDLaunch events, which include design reviews and workshops. Events will be posted on the Member Calendar found on the MEDLaunch website. It is the participant’s responsibility to complete any participation forms.

Through project development and design, an emphasis on user interface and interaction with the project will be evaluated by the completion of deliverables at each Design Review. Significant involvement, characterized by progress in prototypes and pitch presentation materials, will be reported by Team Leads.

Attendance, presentation, and networking at MEDLaunch Demo Day constitute the graduation and program completion of a cohort. Team leads and entrepreneurs are expected to attend and speak about their projects’ progress across the year.
