MedLaunch: Biotech Incubator Advisor
MEDLaunch is a student-driven, biomedical incubator in SLU’s Chaifetz Center for Entrepreneurship. Student teams develop innovations in areas including surgical devices, health information technology, and medical diagnostics. Advisors are clinical, industry, and academic mentors that provide feedback and guidance to teams via monthly Design Reviews, entrepreneurship workshops in their area of expertise, and build connections for the team members’ future networks.

Earning Criteria

The advisor has two options for participation. The first option: they must attend in-person or virtually at least 3 of 5 design reviews, and they must attend MEDLaunch Demo Day. Attendance will be noted via submissions of the virtual Design Review Feedback Form and Demo Day registration.

The advisor has two options for participation. The second option: The advisor may hold 1 or more workshops as part of the curriculum for the year. Workshops are documented in the MEDLaunch website calendar.

Advisor involvement with the teams is integral to MEDLaunch’s success. Teams will inform the student executive board if they have 1:1 meetings and/or maintain connections with advisors in some form. At least 2 teams from the most recent cohort must provide positive testimonials.
