This badge has been earned within ACHS’s Integrated Health Sciences associate degree program, which has achieved Essential Employability Qualities Certification by QA Commons. A system of ethical and professional behavior is emphasized throughout the program. To earn the badge, learners engage in the activities described below and must achieve a grade of at least “C” or 75%.

Successful Completion of AROMA 303: Low Therapeutic Margin Essential Oil Case Study. In this project, students demonstrate professionalism and responsibility within a case study based on the discussion “Safe Support Plans with Low Therapeutic Margin Essential Oils." The support plan that students create is required to include safety considerations and relevant references.

In this exercise, there is a focus on upholding the ethical guidelines of national and international aromatherapy professional organizations. Student guidelines for the case study are developed with materials provided by the Aromatherapy Registration Council (ARC) and the National Association of Holistic Aromatherapy (NAHA), and the Alliance of International Aromatherapists (AIA).

The importance of references is emphasized in the context of originality and creating evidence-based aromatherapy support plans. Students must use the APA format for this assignment as well as in other aromatherapy case studies and literature review papers in the program.
