Rescue Diver (v.5)
The course objective is to develop the knowledge and skills necessary to effectively perform diver assists and rescues, manage diving accident situations and render first aid. Rescue Diver training expands the basic problem prevention and accident management skills divers learn beginning with the PADI Open Water Diver course. At the Rescue Diver level, divers are ready to learn to manage more complex dive emergencies and to apply direct intervention techniques to assist others in an emergency.

Earning Criteria

The methods of assessment include examinations, quizzes, completion of the rescue diver final exam, evaluation of performance mastery during 10 confined/open water training exercises and 2 open water rescue scenarios, and more with a minimum passing score of 75%.

Instructional strategies include: audio visual materials, case studies, laboratory, discussion, computer-based training, coaching/mentoring, practical exercises, lectures.
