Pharmacogenomics (PGx) in Practice: Infectious Diseases, HLAs, & G6PD (2025)
Earners of this micro-credential have demonstrated competency in pharmacogenomics (PGx) concepts and their application to infectious diseases practice or for prediction of HLA hypersensitivity reactions and G6PD deficiency. They are able to make appropriate recommendations for PGx testing, interpret results, integrate these data into patient care decisions, counsel patients, and collaborate with prescribers to help optimize patient medication regimens.

Earning Criteria

Completed self-paced, online education involving videos, interactive activities, case-based assessments, and readings. As part of the Pharmacogenomics in Practice series, the learner completed a 4 hour course on Foundations of Decision Making followed by a 2 h course focused on applications in the treatment of pain.

Achieved a minimum 80% score on 7 individual assessments focused on precision medicine and PGx, foundations of PGx, PGx testing, clinical decision making, and the integration of PGx into infectious diseases practice or for prediction of HLA hypersensitivity reactions and G6PD deficiency.

The program was designed to fulfill competency standards for pharmacists, physicians, nurses, and physician assistants.
