TESOL Specialization: Leadership in Higher Education
Courses in this concentration focus on historical and contemporary issues at the intersection of higher education finance and policy. Students will learn about the fiscal and policy structures that support public and private postsecondary institutions and how they change in response to economic fluctuations. The program covers policy development and implementation in higher education through an economic lens, exploring how different economic ideologies influence higher education policy.

Earning Criteria

The governance structures of U.S. higher education institutions will be examined, including public and private, for-profit and non-profit, and four-year and two-year schools. Students will learn about the challenges and opportunities associated with each governance structure in the context of competing political ideologies.
