The Advanced Manufacturing Pre-Apprenticeship (AMP) prepares pre-apprentices with the foundational technical knowledge and skills found in the manufacturing sector. In addition to academic concepts – mathematics, measurement, and chemistry – AMP pre-apprentices learn the fundamentals of manufacturing by studying safety standards, additive manufacturing, manufacturing processes, quality and lean, and automation through computer numerical control (CNC) devices and robotics.

Earning Criteria

All pre-apprentices achieving a score of 70% or greater on the Certified Manufacturing Associate exam will receive a Certificate of Achievement from the Society for Manufacturing Engineers (SME). All pre-apprentices who complete all AMP requirements will receive a Certificate of Completion from Workforce Development, Pennsylvania College of Technology and a Certificate of Recognition from the PA Department of Labor & Industry.
