Nuclear Security System Design Challenge Using AVERT Physical Security

Using the DEPO methodology and modeling & simulation with AVERT Physical Security through the AVERT 4 Universities program by ARES Security Corporation, badge earners produced a Physical Protection System (PPS) re-design recommendation for an existing nuclear facility PPS given a Design Basis Threat nuclear sabotage scenario. Earners proposed a PPS re-design that maintained high assurance of PPS effectiveness while minimizing costs and considering prescriptive nuclear regulatory requirements.
