Earners of the Practical Metallurgy for Welders badge have developed the skills necessary to identify the elements and properties of metals and their relation to welding. They’ve studied the mechanical, physical, and chemical properties of metals and their elements. They can identify the metric equivalents (International System of Units-SI) that welders use in practical metallurgy. They’ve explored electrodes, filler metal specification, metal grains, cast iron, and precipitation hardening.
