The course objective is to provide an introduction to the science of nutrition, including how the human body takes in, breaks down, and uses nutrients. The course includes information about nutrients and how they contribute to the way the body functions. Students will learn how physical activities can contribute to a healthier lifestyle. Suggestions for individual nutrition choices are discussed along with tactics for maintaining a healthy weight and keeping food supplies safe.
