The methods of assessment include quizzes, examinations, written papers, and a comprehensive proctored exam with a minimum passing score of 70 percent.

The methods of instruction include practical exercises, discussion, study guide and textbook, and an optional webinar. The general course topics include Guiding Young Children: Three Essential Elements; Direct and Indirect Child Guidance; Special Topics in Child Guidance; and Apply your Knowledge of Child Guidance.
