The course objective is to provide a survey of the economic behavior on an individual human and business level. The student will learn the basic concepts of the economic perspective needed to work with the principles of economics. In addition to the basic concepts supply and demand, market structures, consumer behavior, government regulation, resource markets and modern issues in microeconomics will be explored in this course.

The methods of assessment include quizzes, examinations, and a comprehensive final proctored exam with a minimum passing score of 70 percent.

The methods of instruction include study guides and a textbook. The general course topics include the fundamentals of the economic perspective; price, efficiency, and consumer behavior; product markets; resource markets and government; and microeconomics issues and policies.
