ECE 220 Child Growth and Development (ECE 220)

The course objective is to present a variety of theoretical viewpoints to provide students with a well-balanced view of a child's developmental process. Current studies and research provide students with an understanding of the principal topics of child psychology as well as recent trends in socially relevant problem areas.

The methods of assessment include quizzes, examinations, written papers, and discussion boards with a minimum passing score of 70 percent.

The methods of instruction include discussion, computer-based training, study units, textbook, and an optional open office hour session. The general course topics include theory and research in child development; foundations of development; cognitive and language development; personality and social development; and contexts for development.
