This course explores the ethical and moral responsibilities of businesses in a capitalist system. It examines different approaches to ethics and morality, including the principles of egoism, utilitarianism, Kant’s categorical imperative, and Rawls’s theory of justice. The course also focuses on how different moral philosophies might best be applied to business organizations and their activities.Case studies are used to explain how the ethical issues facing businesses ultimately affect all of us.

The methods of assessment include quizzes, examinations, written papers, and a comprehensive final proctored exam with a minimum passing score of 70 percent.

The methods of instruction include discussion, study guides, textbook, and required webinars. The general course topics include ethics: personal and professional; corporate culture and responsibility; ethical issues and decision making, and corporate decisions in the larger context.
