Level 2 Healthcare Support Worker
Earners of this badge have demonstrated competence as a Healthcare Support Worker based on the occupational standard published by IFATE. This includes applied knowledge of health interventions, person centred care, mental health and well-being, duty of care and legislation and related policies such as equality and diversity. Skills and behaviours demonstrated include providing person centred care and support, taking physiological measurements, safeguarding, team working and communication.

Successfully met the requirements of the Healthcare Support Worker End-point Assessment delivered by Pearson as a registered EPAO. The End-Point Assessment consists of a Multiple-choice Test, Observation of Practice and an Interview (supported by evidence portfolio).

Completed a minimum of 12 months learning and development to meet the knowledge, skills and behaviours in the Healthcare Support Worker occupational standard.

Achieved at least Level 1 English and Maths qualifications.
Standards
Healthcare support workers (HCSWs) work as part of a team providing high quality and compassionate care to individuals. They carry out well-defined routine clinical duties like monitoring an individual’s conditions (by checking things like blood pressure, temperature or weight), checking on their overall progress, comfort and wellbeing.
