Advanced Oncology Certified Nurse Practitioner (AOCNP®)
Earners of the Advanced Oncology Certified Nurse Practitioner (AOCNP®) credential have demonstrated they have advanced knowledge and experience as a Nurse Practitioner in adult oncology. They have the knowledge to competently provide advanced-level care for adults along the entire cancer continuum. Earners initially demonstrate this knowledge by passing a comprehensive examination and maintain the credential by completing professional development or passing the examination again.

Earning Criteria

Hold a current, active, unencumbered RN or APRN license

Earned a graduate degree from an accredited Nurse Practitioner Program with a concentration in oncology, adult (primary or acute), family (across lifespan), gerontology, or women’s health

Completed at least 500 hours supervised clinical practice as an adult oncology nurse practitioner within the past five years

Completed at least one graduate-level oncology course of at least 2 credits or 30 hours of oncology continuing education within the past five years

Attained a passing score on the AOCNP Examination
