Achieve a grade of C or higher in SPED 5203: Children and Youth with Special Needs

Earners will identify and understand the fundamental concepts on which special education is based.

Earners will describe the roles and responsibilities of special educators, related service professionals, general education teachers, and other individuals who contribute to the education of students with disabilities.

Earners will define disabilities, prevalence and cause and describe characteristics of individuals with disabilities; describe how learners with disabilities receive their education; and implement recommended interventions and educational practices for students with disabilities.

Students are competent in current practices in identification, placement, characteristics, special needs and service delivery approaches related to a unique group of children/youth or adults with disabilities and/or with special education needs.
