Film Studies
A micro-credential in Film Studies provides students with foundational knowledge of film as an art form, a cultural medium, and communication tool. Courses in film analysis and critique teach students to explore how various cinematic techniques operate together to establish the tone, mood, and meaning of a film. Students will develop essential skills for careers in film development, criticism, media advertising, and independent filmmaking.

HUM 2243 – Film Studies (3 credits), completion with a grade D or higher.

Completion of one of the following courses: HUM 2233 – European Film (3 credits),HUM 2253 – Documentary Films (3 credits), HUM 2263 – American Cinema (3 credits), HUM 2273 – International Cinema (3 credits), HUM 2283 – Film Genre (3 credits), HUM 2313 – Film Analysis and Criticism (3 credits), or HUM 2323 – Writing for Stage and Screen (3 credits) with a grade of D or higher.
