Curriculum Development
Earners of the Curriculum Development certification will be able to demonstrate competency in using the current Oklahoma Academic Standards to align, create, and evaluate existing curricula at the PK-12 level. Additionally, students will be able to identify curricular issues and devise creative, yet practical solutions to problem solve in challenging areas of need.

Earning Criteria

Achieve a grade of C or higher in EDUC 5333: Curriculum Development and Practicum

Earners will use selected texts, discussion and presentations as curricular theory-into-practice components of your own curriculum development project; analyze and assess the roles of stakeholders (students, parents, teachers, or administrators) in curriculum planning and change.

Earners observe, analyze and describe the impact of socioeconomic diversity on curriculum development, instructional delivery and student achievement.

Earners prepare a paper illustrating your understanding of the structure and development of curriculum.

Earners use technology to present a curriculum design that realistically addresses both the educational needs of students and society.

Earners will be competent in using state standards to align, create, and evaluate existing curricula at the PK-12 level as well as identifying curricular issues and devising creative, practical solutions to problem solve in areas of need.
