Content Knowledge for Elementary Teachers

Upon completion of the workshop, the attendee will have information and resources which can be directly applied in the classroom to support effective reading instruction. In addition, foundational reading content will be shared with the attendees, which can be applied toward the Elementary Education OSAT subtest 1 exam. It is a requirement for teachers to pass this exam to be certified to work in the classroom in Oklahoma.

Earning Criteria

Attendees must participate in the full 3 hours of the workshop and successfully complete the assessment to be awarded the micro-credential. Successful completion of the assessment involves earning a 75% or higher when completing a 25-question multiple-choice test and correctly responding to a constructed response. The exam with the constructed response will emulate the Oklahoma Subject Area Test for Elementary Teachers (OSAT).
Earners will be able to identify strategies for addressing the assessed needs of individuals in reading and language arts.
Earners will be able to apply appropriate literacy terminology; and recognize formal and informal methods for literacy assessing students.
