Beef Cattle Artificial Insemination
Earners of the Artificial Insemination certification will be able to demonstrate competency in artificial insemination of beef cattle and embyro transplanting. Students will be able to handle cattle safely, properly identify estrus in cattle, understand bovine reproductive physiology, handle frozen semen, and successfully artificially inseminate cows for optimum fertilization.

Successful completion of AGRC 3002: Artificial Insemination Workshop

Earners will learn the basic physiology of the reproductive systems of common farm animals with an emphasis on beef cattle.

Earners will learn about current reproduction technologies.

Earners will experience a livestock production process from reproduction technologies, reproductive nutrition, and reproductive health standpoints.

Earners will learn the hormone interactions for various breeding synchronization protocols; learn proper semen handling protocols.

Earners will learn and practice the techniques of artificial insemination on live cows; and learn and practice cattle handling safety procedures.
