This micro-credential explores the history, causes, and impacts of misinformation, emphasizing its spread through digital media. Students examine motives behind misinformation, disinformation, bias, and satire, and analyze filter bubbles, echo chambers, confirmation bias, bots, deepfakes, and AI. They build media literacy skills by evaluating sources, using fact-checking tools, reverse image searches, and the CRAAP test to assess information and share content responsibly.
