The earner of this micro-credential understands military culture, recognizes experiences common to veterans and their families, and is aware of the effects of contemporary military experience. The earner comprehends trauma that may result in homelessness, addiction, mental illness, PTSD, depression, and suicide, and is able to investigate the federal, state, community, and non-profit resources and benefits available to veterans, family members, and survivors.

Complete SWK 594 Introduction to Veterans Services, Policy, and Programming; and one of the following courses: PAD 501 Human Resource Management; SWK 684 Trauma-Focused Care; SWK 579 Gerontology; HSC 510 Trends and Cultural Issues in Healthcare; or HSC 620 Health Care Finance and Reimbursement.
