Earners of the badge successfully completed a series of nine courses on topics of telehealth for clinicians and leaders. Participants acquired skills and knowledge in the areas of health informatics, artificial intelligence, virtual communications, social media, remote care communications and delivery, immersive media, virtual team management and delivery, legal and regulatory and technology assessment. They learned about designing and delivering virtual healthcare.

  • Identified opportunities and challenges for clinicians, patients and families in telehealth and learned key aspects of virtual care that are often legally regulated (such as privacy, patient consent, data security, and fraud and abuse).
  • Examined the role of artificial intelligence (AI) in healthcare, evaluated appropriate uses of AI and explored the relationship between health informatics and telemedicine.
  • Described the uses and advantages of immersive media in virtual health care, techniques used for creating immersive media scenarios and for virtual healthcare assessment.
