Students will debate ideas with others expressing charity, creativity, and sincerity. Students will discern the validity of philosophical or propositional arguments. Students will gain a greater understanding of key concepts like modernity, capitalism, idealism, empiricism, humanism, and various religious systems. Students will learn to effectively communicate ideas and information verbally, visually, and in writing.

Earners must complete any 3 (9 credit hours) of the following courses with a "B" or better: POLS 2813 Western Political Thought, POLS 4000 Workshop (to be Special Topics), POLS 4183 Political Propaganda, POLS 4xx3 Ancient-Medieval Political Theory, POLS 4533 Contemporary Political Theory, POLS 4543 Philosophy of Law, POLS 4573 American Political Thought, POLS 4733 Constitutional Law.
