Students will practice the fundamentals of creating and managing worksheets and workbooks, creating cells and ranges, creating tables, applying formulas and functions, creating charts and objects, performing data analysis and business intelligence and writing MACROS in EXCEL. Successful students will be prepared to take the Microsoft Office Specialist (MOS) Professional Certification Exam. Badge earners must complete the following course: MGMT 3053 - Excel for Business

Earning Criteria

Completion of relevant coursework in a formal classroom environment. Instructional strategies include: audio visual materials, discussion, computer-based training, practical exercises, lectures.

SLO 1. Seize the basic foundational functions of Excel: the Excel user interface, the basic terminology of Excel.

SLO 2. Gets the skill of working with formulas and functions - learns how to write them, use them to perform calculations

SLO 3. Uses font formatting, borders, alignment, number formatting, and Excel styles and themes

SLO 4. Extracts and modifies data with search and replace, uses conditional formatting to highlight specific data

SLO 5. Optimizes a spreadsheet for printing by managing margins, orientation, headers and footers, and more.

SLO 6. Creates and edits charts in Excel.
