The National Committee for Quality Assurance (NCQA) is an independent, not-for-profit organization dedicated to improving healthcare quality through measurement, transparency, and accountability. NCQA is a leader in quality oversight and improvement initiatives at all levels of the health care system, from evaluating entire systems of care to recognizing individual providers that demonstrate excellence. NCQA serves as the measure steward for the Healthcare Effectiveness Data Information Set (HEDIS®1 ), the most widely used performance improvement tools including over 90 measures.
