The Apache Shutdown Cyber Range Certified badge is awarded to individuals who have demonstrated the knowledge and skills needed to mitigate a web server attack. The web server attack is deployed by the Miami Dade College Cyber Range which is a state-of-the-art training platform that can simulate attacks in real-time. Individuals must use industry-leading tools such as firewalls, SIEMs, IDS/IPS, packet analyzers, network monitoring systems, and endpoint security to respond to the incidents.

Earning Criteria

The badge earner must complete the MDC Web Misconfiguration Cyber Range course and final assessment. The final assessment takes place within the MDC Cyber Range where a real-world web server attack is launched against an IP network. To successfully complete the assessment, the badge earner must use real security tools to accomplish a number of detection, response, and prevention goals. Required tasks include investigating SIEM alerts, utilizing Linux tools, and working with Apache servers.
