This course will complete the educational training required by the Wisconsin Board of Dentistry in order to administer nitrous oxide/oxygen inhalation analgesia. This practical continuing dental education course will give you the capacity to reduce patient anxiety and fears in your dental office, and is available to all eligible members of the dental team.
Additional DetailsEarning Criteria

Successfully complete 8 hours in clinic, with supervised clinical experience using fail-safe anesthesia equipment capable of positive pressure respiration.

Read: Handbook of Nitrous Oxide and Oxygen Sedation, 4th edition by Clark and Brunick, prior to entering clinic, as part of the 12 hour course load.

Demonstrate proper maintenance of N2O-O2 equipment to include infection control and precautions for safe use.

Successfully pass all skill and knowledge assessments related to N2O-O2 sedation.

Calculate and record accurate percentage of N2O-O2 delivered.

Successfully demonstrate safe and effective administration and delivery of N2O-O2 sedation.
