Basic Gas Tungsten Arc Welding (v.01)
Issued by
Madison College
Students develop solid manipulative and theoretical understanding of the GTAW process. Manual skills will be developed welding a variety of weld joints made on carbon steel and stainless steel in the flat and horizontal positions. Theoretical understanding of the GTAW process will be gained through lecture and discussions. All welding competencies performed using the GTAW process will be evaluated using American Welding Society (AWS) Structural Steel Welding Code visual inspection criteria.
