Earning Criteria

• The installer has gained an understanding of GPTP/GPTPS materials, including their characteristics, applications, and how they differ from traditional tiles. This knowledge enables the installer to select and handle these materials effectively for various installations.
• The installer is familiar with key industry standards such as ANSI A137.3, ANSI A108.19, AS 3958, TTA, and BS 5385. They understand how these standards apply to GPTP/GPTPS installations, ensuring compliance with both global and regional installation requirements.
• The installer has been trained on safe handling techniques for large-format porcelain panels. This includes the proper use of suction-cupped frames and transport systems to prevent tile damage and ensure safety during installation.
• The installer has learned the importance of substrate flatness and leveling to a tolerance of 3 mm in 3 m, ensuring a solid base for installation. They also understand the significance of proper cleaning, priming, and moisture control before applying adhesives.
• The installer understands how to select the correct adhesive based on tile size, substrate, and environmental conditions. They are proficient in back-buttering and floating techniques to ensure full adhesive coverage and proper bonding, following industry standards like ANSI A118.15.
• The installer has been trained in proper leveling techniques and the use of leveling systems to ensure uniform height across large-format panels. They understand the importance of minimizing lippage by aligning tiles precisely during installation, using tools like lippage control systems as part of the process.
• The installer is familiar with product selection for grout, understanding the importance of choosing the appropriate type for the installation based on tile size, joint width, and exposure to moisture or chemicals.
