The workshop aims to equip participants with practical tools and strategies to reduce their institution's environmental footprint while identifying opportunities for cost savings. Through a mix of interactive presentations and collaborative group activities, attendees will gain concrete actions to integrate into their sustainability plans, ensuring their digital activities benefit both the environment and their institution's bottom line.

Earning Criteria

This Driving digital sustainability workshop consists of a 1x 2 hour participative live online session. The learner has been awarded the completed digital badge for completing all learning outcomes as well as taking part in all activities, being fully engaged in interactions and contributing to discussions. Further to this they have fulfilled the criteria for this demonstrated digital badge as exemplified by the options below from the 'outcomes and next steps' table;

Option 1. Objective; Optimise number of end-user devices. Outcome; Emissions reduction and direct savings. Steps; Conduct an ICT estate survey to identify surplus/underutilised devices. Action: Repurpose, refurbish or donate surplus devices.

Or option 2. Objective; Increase product lifespan of end-user devices via sourcing changes. Outcome; Emissions reduction and direct savings. Steps; Research and prioritise durable products. Action: Update procurement policies to include lifespan and repairability as key criteria.

Timescale for completion of criteria; once an option from the 'outcomes and next steps' table has been chosen, this task it to be completed in no more than 1 month from the date of the workshop.
