In the 300 series, the second year of the program, the apprentice continues mastering the outside lineman occupation. Entry level skills are highlighted as well as an introduction to field work. The apprentice is working on the job full time during this series as well as taking course work available electronically.

The methods of assessment include examinations, performance rubrics/checklists, with a minimum passing score of 80%.
