Machine Learning 2
Issued by
Inter American University of Puerto Rico
Earner attended 12 hours of Machine Learning part 2 workshop from the DS-INTER Summer Institute. The workshops and courses included the theoretical and mathematical study of support vector machine and neural networks. The Singular Value Decomposition for dimensionality reduction is also explained. Codes in MATLAB and Python are developed and a final group project and presentation on classification of handwritten digits is studied using ML algorithms and visualizations of handwritten digits.

Earning Criteria
-
From one to four MATLAB and/or Python coding homework for SVM codes with quadratic optimization, and neural networks. Two optional theoretical questions on VC number and updating weights for NN with back-propagation and gradient descent.
-
Classify handwritten digits using either SVM or NN, and analyze accuracy and results for testing data of the chosen algorithm. Include dimensionality reduction.
-
Earners are required to design and prepare a group presentation of their Machine Learning project. Discussion and analysis of the most significant findings is required.
