Earners of the POCUS Certification Academy™ Ambassador badge are both experts and enthusiasts of point-of-care ultrasound around the world. Earners exhibit incredible leadership in utilizing bedside ultrasound in their their own practice, as well as advancing the use of medical imaging throughout their healthcare community. Representing their country, Ambassadors meet quarterly to help drive the direction of the POCUS movement, share important resources among the cohort to advance POCUS.

Earning Criteria

POCUS Ambassadors are first and foremost volunteers of the POCUS Certification Academy. They participate in the Ambassador Program of their own free will, in order to build educational resources, attend informational events, network with other influential healthcare leaders, and ultimately become decision-makers in the POCUS movement.
POCUS Ambassadors should be active users of point-of-care ultrasound. The level of education and years of use often vary, but each POCUS Ambassador has first-hand experience in the power and potential of the technology.
POCUS Ambassadors will complete the POCUS Fundamentals and the Global POCUS Principles certifications to prove their proficiency in point-of-care ultrasound.
All POCUS Ambassadors have undergone an extensive consideration process, including an interview with the POCUS Certification Academy, a formal application to the program, and a review of their expertise submitted through supplemental professional materials.
POCUS Ambassadors spend the first year of the program developing a proposal, implementation plan, and funding stream for a pilot project that will advance the use of point-of-care ultrasound in their nation. In year two of the program, they will work with the POCUS Certification Academy to successfully launch and execute their pilot project, while collecting data and research of the implemented project.
