The UWSU Train The Trainer Programme is an ILM Recognised programme of learning, created and delivered by the University of Westminster Students’ Union (UWSU) for individuals in leadership roles wishing to enhance their training and presentation delivery skills. The programme aims to develop the required knowledge and skills to be an effective facilitator through the practical implementation and understanding of core training and development concepts and theory.

Earning Criteria

Participants will understand the difference between education, training and development in order to allow them to formalise what the role of a trainer and facilitator is.

Participants will understand how individuals learn by studying the competency staircase and Kolb’s learning cycle and suggesting ways trainers use these theories to improve delivery.

Participants take an in-depth look into the theory of neuro-linguistic programming to aid knowledge on how to successfully write and deliver training session to a wide variety of learners.

Participants take an in-depth look at the communication cycle and possible barriers that can prevent communication being effective alongside the understanding of how to deliver accelerated learning.

Participants develop a clear knowledge of how to write, review and evaluate training sessions to continually develop the practice and quality of programmes delivered.
