The programme has been designed to give managers the essential skills and knowledge they need to succeed in their role as a manager at Eurostar. The EMP Launch - During this session, we will discuss why developing management skills is essential for people manager at Eurostar. The session will describe how the EMP will support participants in gaining the skills, knowledge and experience they need to maximise their potential as a manager. It will also detail the logistics and requirements for successfully completing the EMP.

Moving from team to manager - This workshop will give you a wider perspective to ease your transition from team member to manager.

Bite Size Management Workshop: Absence - This session aims to guide you on your responsibilities for managing sickness absence in your team. It will cover the policy framework, absence triggers, manging long term absence, disability awareness and our obligations under the Equality Act 2010.

Bite Size Management Workshop: Disciplinary - This session aims to guide you on your responsibilities for tackling misconduct, from minor misdemeanours to gross misconduct. This session makes an ideal follow on from the investigation training. It will focus on your responsibilities under the policy and the stages necessary to address an allegation of misconduct.

Bite Size Management Workshop: Grievance - This session aims to guide you on your responsibilities to help resolve a grievance raised by one of your team. The session will help demystify the question “when is a grievance not a grievance” and the different resolution options to possible resolution.

Bite Size Management Workshop: Investigations - This session aims to guide you on the fundamentals of a fair, unbiased, balanced investigation process. It will cover what is expected of you as an investigating officer, how to scope an investigation and key skills required to undertake this role.

Performance Management: Performance Reviews - During this session, we'll focus on performance as an ongoing process that helps team members develop their day-to-day tasks. You'll learn how to review and assess your team's progress against individual and departmental goals and develop the skills and confidence of your team.

Performance Management: Development Conversations - A development conversation is the way you manage performance throughout the year. It is the most important part as with solid development conversations, your reviews will be easy, and you will keep your employees engaged and motivated. The aim of these conversations is to inspire and enable employees to grow while developing their knowledge, skills, and abilities in order to maximise their performance.

Managing a team - During this session, we will cover the key aspects of how to build and manage your team effectively. Through discussions and carefully designed activities you'll get a greater understanding of your team and how to lead them into success.

Engaging and motivating a team - This hands-on workshop gives you the essential tools, techniques and principles you need to boost team motivation, focus, effectiveness and engagement.

Communicating with impact - We will equip you with the awareness, tools and confidence to increase your impact with all stakeholders through effective communication techniques. You will achieve this through self-reflection, peer discussions and practical exercises.

Coaching skills - The aim of this workshop is to provide managers with the skills, competence and confidence to improve their team's performance through a coaching approach. Managers will achieve this through the coaching framework (GROW), peer to peer learning, scenarios and practical exercises.
