Earning Criteria
-
By the end of this course you will be able to:
-
Facilitate interactive, memorable student-centred learning both face to face and via virtual classroom. This programme promotes student-centred learning and builds core skills so that learners can apply student-centred theory to the courses they teach. This is applied to both virtual classroom and face-to-face learning.
-
Communicate with confidence so your learners believe in you/you believe in yourself. Key aspects are the importance of first impressions, how to project confidence through verbal and non-verbal communication and the impact of body language. The differing use of verbal and non-verbal communication in face to face learning compared to virtual classroom is featured and the importance of planning promotes confidence in training.
-
Plan well-structured training that is easy for learners to follow as you give them a clear “road-map” and work to it. Well-structured training is a must – training does not succeed by accident. Therefore, the importance of preparation is a key focus on this programme as is clear structure in delivery, making it easy for learners to follow. This programme gives tips and templates on how to plan effectively and interpret course syllabi using a very hands-on approach to build confidence.
-
Engage learners every step of the way and check their understanding through advanced open question techniques. This programme focuses on how to keep your learners engaged from start to finish through advanced open question techniques and their importance in student-centred learning. Key skills are when and how to use open questions, when to use closed questions and how to handle answers effectively. This is practised in group activities.
-
Lead learning through effective use of teaching aids including making PPT interactive and stimulating. The use of PPT as a framework for the learning and the difference between this and presenting are studied and practised on this programme. The Kawasaki rule for PPT is promoted as are model techniques to make PPT interactive – in both face-to-face and virtual training. Through group activities learners will be able to evaluate how to use aids effectively for their own programmes.
