Earning Criteria

Complete the installation of z/OS 3.2. It’s recommended that you complete your z/OS 3.2 installation by earning the 'z/OS Installation Using z/OSMF' badge. Follow the badge’s process to install z/OS using z/OSMF’s Software Management and the ServerPac installation method. As proof of installing z/OS 3.2, send a screenshot of the DISPLAY IPLINFO command to Sneha.Kanaujia@ibm.com.
Provide evidence that you have explored at least 3 out of the 8 new features introduced in z/OS 3.2. You may choose any combination of the options below. Each option outlines the specific validation method required. Option details and examples can be found here.
For Options 1 through 3, provide a screenshot to Sneha.Kanaujia@ibm.com showing that you are inside the respective plug-in interface. The screenshot must include the hostname at the top to confirm it originates from your ".com" domain. These options include the z/OSMF Storage Plugin GUI, the z/OS 3.2 Upgrade Workflows, and the z/OSMF WLM Policy Advisor enhancements.
Options 4 and 5 require validation through API interaction. You may either provide a screenshot of the OpenAPI interface showing the API response data or use the API in a program and provide a screenshot of the code snippet in the program along with the JSON response. These options apply to the Software Update REST API and the Parmlib Syntax Validation REST APIs. Screenshots should be sent to Sneha.Kanaujia@ibm.com for validation.
Option 6 involves Cloud Compatible Data Sets. To validate this feature, run the GDKUTIL JCL utility specifying the UPLOAD command with FORMAT(RECORD), ensuring that LOCNAME or LOCAL DD points to a data set. You must provide a screenshot of the output contents from the SYSPRINT DD to Sneha.Kanaujia@ibm.com. Click here for a sample output.
Option 7: DSS S3 Support Direct to Cloud - Data Movement using Cloud Data Access (CDA). Follow the quick start guide to set up the required files and credentials. Update the provider file with your cloud connection details and include the DFSMSdss key-value pair anywhere in the file: "enableDFSMSdss": "YES". Run the GDKUTIL JCL utility to validate your setup is correct. Perform a backup to cloud storage of a data set and provide a screenshot of the output as evidence to Sneha.Kanaujia@ibm.com.
Option 8 focuses on Extended JES Policy functions (JCL job input policy type, more actions and attributes). To validate this feature, create a JES2 Policy that writes a message to the job log for any job with a specific name, such as HELOWRLD. The message should only be issued once per job. You may refer to the policy action JCLInMessage for guidance. Submit a screenshot of the job log output showing the message to Sneha.Kanaujia@ibm.com.
