The earner has demonstrated experience working with the IBM Quantum sales teams and are selected based on their deep technical knowledge of both quantum computing and strategic IBM Quantum Network industries and GEOs. They will be able to present deep technical discussions with potential clients along side the quantum sales team and contribute technically to other teams in the IBM Quantum organization.

Earning Criteria

Must be a full-time IBM employee

Demonstrate knowledge in IBMs Quantum technology and offerings, understands the theory behind Quantum computing and can describe our hardware and software in detail, and has worked directly with the sales team

Support from the IBM Quantum sales team and ambassador regional lead is required indicating that they are confident that the ambassador can; support them in discussing deep technical overview and use cases with the client’s technical and research teams, mentor other ambassadors, and has demonstrated technical topics regarding quantum computing

Demonstrated knowledge of advanced questions on quantum theory, IBM Quantum hardware, Qiskit features and performance advancements, and IBM Quantum platform (IBM Cloud), and has led medium to large workshops requested by the quantum sales team for specific clients or as requested by the IBM Quantum organization (i.e. Qiskit Fallfest, etc.)

Each candidate must have completed the IBM Quantum Senior Ambassador at least for one year and receritified prior to applying

Each candidate will be selected based on above criteria, support of the quantum sales team, based on the needs of the business for the region

Each candidate must have acquired the Qiskit Developer Certification (preferably the most recent version, 2025)

Each candidate must obtain the Qiskit Advocate badge (once relaunched)

Annual revalidation of this badge will require a minimum of 20 presentations and technical engagement activities which will be confirmed on the Ambassador Engagement AirTable, and must be entered into the AirTable no later than the quarter in which the presentation was delivered, no exceptions

Promotional review board selection are held at the end of each year and will be announced in the first quarter of the following year
