Standards
The PFA credential is conferred in Canada exclusively by The Institute for Advanced Financial Education. Individuals who have completed the PFA Designation Program and Final Comprehensive Exam must fill out, sign & return the PFA Credential Holder’s Agreement. A minimum of 20 continuing education credits must be completed in each calendar year.
PFA credential holders must maintain awareness of changes in economic, political, and regulatory environments and operate in the best interests of clients. They must act in accordance with regulatory and professional designation requirements and adhere to The Institute’s Code of Professional Conduct.
The Professional Financial Advisor (PFA™) is an approved credential for use of the title Financial Advisor in Ontario. Similar regulations may also be introduced in other provincial jurisdictions in the future, making the PFA an excellent option for advisors who wish to plan ahead.
