This course is designed to provide employees with strategies on how to safely work with chemicals and become familiar with fire prevention, emergency action plans, and medically related emergencies. Safety principles and work practices to prevent workplace incidents/accidents and injuries will be covered. Participants will learn potential hazard recognition relative to working with chemicals in a warehousing and/or distribution setting.

After completing this course, students will understand: OSHA’s Hazard Communication Standard and how it applies in a work environment to protect workers from injury and safety incidents. Employer responsibilities are for having a Hazard Communication Training Program in place. Chemical hazard recognition/self-inspection. Understand the cause of heat-related injuries, the signs and symptoms, and preventive measures. Best practices in the workplace for preventing fires.
