Earning Criteria

Describe the key features of different forms of whistleblowing and other wrongdoing reporting, and their significance for public integrity, accountability and social responsibility in public and private institutions.

Demonstrate knowledge and understanding of international and Australian efforts to recognise the role of whistleblowing in integrity systems, including the principles, laws and processes that underpin these efforts.

Critically reflect on the objectives of whistleblowing policies and programs in organisations, and analyse the different organisational and governance processes that bear upon achieving these objectives.

Evaluate, design, and/or lead the implementation of, an organisational-level whistleblowing policy or program using current best practice principles.

Exercise leadership in the management of regulatory, operational, human resource and risk management challenges associated with organisational responses to suspected wrongdoing, and the fair treatment, protection and support of employees including those who speak up.
