Earners that participate in this badge series demonstrate competency in both divergent and convergent thinking, identifying patterns that may not be obvious, managing ambiguity, and applying an iterative process for generating, testing and refining ideas.

Earning Criteria

Tying Up Loose Ends: Earners are presented with a scenario that requires both divergent and convergent thinking. Through critical thinking and problem-solving processes, earner must brainstorm and identify ten innovative solutions, apply an evaluative process, rank solutions based on criteria and usefulness, and finalize their ideas by reflecting on results and processes.

The Crisis: This assessment provides earners with the opportunity to manage ambiguity when presented with a professional challenge. Earners must develop a successful action plan that includes a clear outline with an informed solution based on relevant information, assesses potential consequences, and presents an alternative solution as a parallel plan.

Sparring: This application exercise provides a structured way to gain insights and feedback from teammates and stakeholders. Earners must identify a topic they are looking for peer feedback on. Presenting to a team, earners "spar" by conducting a walk-through of the topic, gain feedback, discuss questions and challenges presented, and develop an iteration of their work based on feedback given.

Finding Your Pattern: Through this application exercise, earners will use pattern identification abilities to recognize patterns in themselves using a mind map that addresses a scenario that addresses their goals, values, aptitudes, personal style, and interests. Earners analyze the data collected, reflect on the patterns they discovered, and address common themes identified.
